"It is giving that we recieve"

Goddess Watch has just sponsored Audrey and Cara Fielding (mother and daughter Goddesses) on their quest to save lives:
"We decided to take on the challenge of a half/full marathon to help raise awareness for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's quest to cure blood cancers. For the next four months we will be training daily for this event; and our personal goal is $10,000. Every one of the thousands of steps we take in this marathon will be to honour and support a patient or survivor or to honour the memory of someone who has lost their battle with one of these diseases. Our success - with your generous support - will be to complete the fundraising goals and finish the marathon - which historically will be one of our greatest achievements to date in our lives! For online donations please go to : www.lls.org/ab. Thank you for your kind and generous support!"

Vibration of Creation

I saw Simranjeet wearing a rich orange for the majority of Solstice. Her color choice was spot on!  The theme of this year's Summer Solstice focused on the second chakra and the corresponding element: water.  Simranjeet's orange is the color of the second chakra!

When we wear a particular color, we activate the chakra that the color is affiliated with. The second chakra is the center for creation. I really enjoyed watching Simranjeet engaging her creativity when learning to play the digeridoo.

Utilizing our God given creativity activates the Goddess within. Bravely branching out into unknown territories for creative expression and inspiration also comes with the territory!

A Breath of Fresh Air

I love the way Siri Sundri looks in her crisp whites while taking in the fresh air on this beautiful New Mexico morning.  Isn't it amazing how spending time in the sunshine and the great outdoors can make the world of difference?

An important part of being Goddess is connecting to nature.  Mother nature has infinite healing powers.  As women, spending time in nature can restore us to balance, especially when we are feeling disconnected or insecure.

In return we must restore mother nature back to health.  She gives more to us than we can comprehend.  Let's do our part by reducing our waste and giving back to the hand that feeds us!

Sleeping Beauties

I took these pictures in between White Tantric Yoga exercises at Solstice.  I was very touched by how peaceful and glowing these women looked as they took their cat naps.

I love how the white clothing brings out the rich colors of their skin. The white also bring emphasis to their colorful accents, such as scarfs and mala beads.  I was especially attracted to the beautiful floral tattoo sleeve!

These women look so bonded with their partners as they snuggle together.  The experience of doing white tantric with your sweetie is truly incomparable.  Although it takes bravery to look deeply into the eyes of your beloved, the experience  stimulates powerful growth in the relationship.

Divine Inspiration

I was to happy to meet the beautiful Amritpal after hearing about her creative abilities far and wide.  Amritpal makes individualized henna tattoos at a very reasonable rate.  When she is in action making your design you can see divine inspiration channeling through her.

Amritpal is both approachable and professional.  When she is finished with your design she sprays the henna with a solution to make it last longer. When the henna is finished drying, she carefully wraps it with a thin paper towel to protect it from being touched.  She even offered a free touch-up if needed. Talk about customer service!

My beautiful design lasted whole a week.  I was actually asked several times if I was getting married!  It is common for women in India to get henna tattoos, or "mehndi", before their wedding.  The grooms initials are often incorporated into the henna design.   On the wedding night the groom must search for his initials in the henna pattern, which is apparently a great icebreakers for young newly weds who are often in arranged marriages.

Clear Mind, Open Heart

Yogi Bhajan says that the most important thing for a woman to do is to relax. However, the cosmic joke is that relaxing is often the hardest thing for a woman to do!

As women we must meditate to strengthen our neutral mind. The neutral mind supports us to act from a clear mind and an opened heart instead of our limiting neurosis.

After all, there is almost nothing more beautiful than a woman in a deep state of meditation!

See the Unseen, Know the Unknown

As a yoga instructor and an independent woman who travels around the world serving the teachings, you can bet this woman needs her intuition!

The gem placed at her third eye emphasizes her knowingness and visionary capabilities.

Pearls and Lace

The bright eyes of this yogi mother captivated my attention.

I love the elegance of her pink pearls and shell necklace.  Both items nicely compliment the delicacy of her lace top.

Latin Beauties

What is their key to radiance? Their stunning natural beauty. Hari Gopal and Guru Pal wear no make up.  They  simply rely on their glowing complexions and beautiful smiles to embody the Goddesses that they are!

Pretty in Pink

I asked Siri Sundri what her secret is to such great color coordination. She replied that she simply purchases all pink clothing and accessories.

Her pink is very nicely complimented by her creamy white accents. The shell necklace with the low cut really makes this outfit for me.

Healthy food and good hydration are also important components of embodying the Goddess!

Head / Heart

Yogi Bhajan taught all aspects of yogic lifestyle as technologies.  He taught that a women could prevent her head from interfering with what she wants in her heart by wearing this light flowing fabric across her neck.

I love the way Parminder's face is framed by the fabric.  It brings attention to  the deep sense of peace in her expression as well as her hip glasses frames!

Self Crowning

Wearing a turban is a yogic technology commonly practiced by kundalini Yogi's.  To put it simply, wearing a turban keeps your head together. It is a self crowning which is the birthright of all human beings.

Traditionally, turbans were worn by Sikh men. However, when Yogi Bhajan introduced the technology of kundalini yoga to the West, the women wanted to wear turbans as well! The Western women have since developed their own style of turban that compliments the female energetically and physically.

I believe that your turban should be a constant personal evolution.  No two turbans are the same.  It is important that you feel comfortable with the way your turban fits and confident with the way it looks.

I love the way Parminder Kaur has added a beautiful butterfly broach, bands and ribbon to her turban.  The sky is the limit, so get creative. For more tips check out my turban tying videos!

Bana

"Bana" is one's form of personal appearance. It is one of the most important ways in which we can maintain and project an elevated consciousness.

Although some kundalini yogi's dress in traditional Sikh Bana, many kundalini yogi's have developed their own way of projecting an elevated consciousness through their appearance.

I love the shear lightness of this outfit.  She flows as lightly as the breeze and shines at bright at the New Mexico summer sun!

Flowing Whites

The style of the kundalini Yogi is a pure flowing white.  White cotton not only keeps us cool in the hot desert environment, but it increases our radiance, our auras, and our magnetic fields. Yogi Bhajan says that if you are having a bad day take a cold shower, dress in all white and go out and look for someone to help.

Goddess Watching at Ram Das Puri

My first Goddess Watch adventure starts at Ram Das Puri at the Summer Solstice kundalini yoga event in Espanola, New Mexico. Summer Solstice is a week long gathering of up to 2,000 people. We come together to meditate, chant, do yoga and to uplift our consciousness. Although we are camping out in the desert there is still some of the most elegantly dressed kundalini yogi's you'll ever meet. Take a look and enjoy!

In service with many blessings,
~Ram Rung Kaur
